Integrating with HubSpot

Connect Mutiny with your HubSpot instance to create personalized experiences for property values.

Updated over a week ago

When you integrate HubSpot with Mutiny, you can create segments based on HubSpot attributes and dynamically insert HubSpot variables into your experiences.

Here are a few example use cases this integration enables:

  • Show users with an open deal content speaking to ROI

  • Upsell depending on the product they are using today

  • Give webinar attendees a recording of the webinar in a banner

  • Highlight a different asset for someone who has already downloaded an asset

  • Give target accounts a link to book a call with their sales rep from the homepage

How it works

Mutiny uses HubSpot Private Apps to establish a connection with your HubSpot data.

When a user comes to your website, we start by checking to see if the HubSpot Tracking Code matches a contact record. If that is not found, we will use IP data to match with the HubSpot company record.

This customer profile data is synced with their Mutiny cookie and lets you create segments for personalization using HubSpot data alongside any other Mutiny data source.

How to integrate HubSpot with Mutiny

Step 1 - Setup your HubSpot Private App.

1. Log in to your HubSpot account as an admin

2. Go to the Settings menu and click on "Integrations"

3. Click on the "Private App"

4. Click on "Create a private app"

5. Complete the Basic Info by naming your app

6. Click into "Scopes"

7. Select all of the read permissions within the CRM section

8. Save your values for entry into Mutiny in Step 2.

Step 2 - Activate your HubSpot integration

Select Integrations from the left side pane and click on HubSpot.

On the next screen, enter your HubSpot Private app access token.

Step 3 - Map your attributes

Select whichever attributes you want to use to segment and personalize in Mutiny. You can add additional columns by clicking the "Map another HubSpot column" button at the bottom. When you are finished with your selection, click "Map columns." You can come back and edit these selections at any time.

That's it - your integration is now complete! You can now get started using HubSpot data in Mutiny.

Step 4 - Create your segments

The attributes you just mapped are now available to build segments in the Segment Creator and the Data Explorer. Happy personalizing!
