How to change roles and permissions

Roles enable you to grant different permissions to different people based on what they need to do or should have access to

Updated over a week ago

Mutiny offers dedicated roles in the Enterprise package. Roles allow you to grant different permissions to different people. This can help with restricting permissions (e.g. separating who can access Inbound and Outbound) or ensuring only certain people can launch experiences.

Below are brief explanations of the various roles and what each can do. Further down is a table with more detail on each role. If you are on the Starter or Growth package, then you will only have access to the Owner and Admin roles.

Owner

The first user created is the Owner by default. There is no functional difference between an Owner and Admin. If the Owner of an account leaves the company, then they can assign other Admins to become new Owners. If they forget before leaving, Mutiny's support team can help.

Admin

This role allows you to perform any action in Mutiny (listed below), including the ability to change the roles of other users. To do this, you can view Team members on the Settings page in Mutiny.

Launcher

This role allows you to do everything required to launch both Inbound experiences and Outbound campaigns. This includes updating settings, managing segments, managing lists, managing experiences, and launching them to be live on your website or outbound landing pages.

Launcher (Inbound)

This role allows you to do everything required to launch Inbound experiences. This includes updating settings, managing segments, managing experiences, and launching them to be live on your website. This role will not have access to Outbound functionality.

Launcher (Outbound)

This role allows you to do everything required to launch Outbound campaigns. This includes updating settings, managing lists, managing campaigns, and launching them to be live. This role will not have access to Inbound functionality.

Drafter

This role allows you to do everything required to create, but not launch, both Inbound experiences and Outbound campaigns. This means you are not able to launch an Inbound experience live, change the status of a live experience, change segments with live experiences, launch Outbound campaigns, or change lists with live campaigns. This role is good for users who require approval before launching.

Drafter (Inbound)

This role allows you to do everything required to create Inbound experiences, but not launch them.

Drafter (Outbound)

This role allows you to do everything required to create Outbound campaigns, but not launch them.
